Thanks to fundraising efforts and awards we have won, we have outstanding facilities at the Pre-School.

Jungle gym
In 2008, Manacacn Pre-school was named the Greenest Nursery in the Playhouse Disney Playing for the Planet Awards and won £15,000 of outdoor play equipment, which was specifically designed for our pre-school aged children and our garden.  The Jungle Gym has several towers, climbing panels and slides which the children love.

Free-flow outdoor area
In 2008 we also added a 'free-flow' outdoor play area, which is wel secured and set out every day so that the children can access outdoor activities throughout the day, whenever they wish to do so.

Natural playground
Thanks to the Cornwall Community Fund grant we have a natural playground with teepee made from willow and wooden muscial instruments.
We also have more traditional slide and climbing frame.

Polytunnel
This is basically a large greenhouse where our volunteer gardener helps the children to grow flowers and vegetables which they then take home, or sometimes sell to raise funds. We also cultivate natural pest control in the form of the children’s pet spider! We also help the children to learn more about caring for wildlife and the environment with the Pre-school wormery.





Computer
We have a computer which the children enjoy using and which has recently been upgraded thanks to a new grant for that purpose.

Role play area
We change the theme of this area each term so the children can enjoy imaginitive role play sessions

Toys and books
We have a carefully selected range of toys and books which are frequently supplemented through our fundraising efforts and through the local library and toy library.
